Another Geordie footballing legend has selected and all time-top XI football team. Earlier in the week we published a post containing Alan Shearer’s best XI from former team-mates for both club and country and now it’s Gazza’s turn.
The Dunston-born former midfielder, who is widely regarded as one of the best (if not the best) English players of all time has picked 11 players from all of those he played alongside for his country – so this is the perfect England side of all time, according to Gazza anyway.
With 57 caps and an international career of over 10 years, Gazza certainly can speak with authority when it comes to discussing great players from the past and present.
Newcastle fans will be pleased to see his selection contains 5 former Toon players, although Gazza himself is not in the team.
It looks like a pretty good team to us…
If all these players had played together in the same team at the same time, perhaps we would have won another major trophy since 1966.

If you still haven’t seen the Gascoigne move, you are missing out. Great funny stories told by the legend himself but he also talks about some emotional experiences. It’s a great insight into his life.
