Newcastle and Gateshead time lapse

Last week we shared a unique video of Newcastle. The footage was a time-lapse of the city, but what made it stand out was the fact it was filmed in HDR. For those who don’t know what HDR (High-Dynamic-Range) is, it refers to techniques used in photography and videography to reproduce a greater dynamic range of luminosity than is possible with standard digital or photographic techniques.
Whilst the majority of comments we received after posting the video were positive, some people told us that they don’t like HDR videos as they look unnatural and fake. It’s a fair point, although we do think it was an awesome piece of footage.
By the way, if you didn’t see it, you can watch it be clicking here.
Because of those comments, we went looking for a more natural looking time-lapse video – and once again we found another great piece of work to share you all.
The video below was posted on YouTube in 2008 and shows time-lapse footage of Newcastle and Gateshead during the day and at night.

Enjoy!
