We recently posted  a video called ‘Newcastle Street view 1940s and 1950s’ which was immensely popular. It appears that people love to see old photos and videos of their beloved city.
So we continue to search for more examples of historical footage to share with you all and fortunately we came across a video that is even older.
The video below is called ‘Cities of Britain – Newcastle On Tyne (1931)’ and is from the British Pathé YouTube channel.
As you can imagine, the quality is not so good seeing as it is over 80 years old but it is still very interesting to watch and has many places that you will definitely recognise.
The video contains a brief history of Newcastle and is narrated by Sir Arthur W. Lambert, who was the Lord Mayor of Newcastle in 1927 and 1929.
Below the video are links to various other old pieces of footage related to Newcastle.

We hope you enjoy it!
