Reactions to Sunderland's humiliating 4-0 loss to Aston Villa

Sunderland dropped to one place above the relegation zone yesterday as they were thrashed 4-0 at home to Aston Villa, a team who have struggled to score all season (netting only 15 times in the the 2014/15 campaign prior to their match at the Stadium of Light).
The poor performance by the Wearsiders was ridiculed both on TV and social media. Former Premier League striker, Chris Sutton, described Sunderland as being ‘like a pub team’ during his half time analysis on BBC’s Final Score show on Saturday afternoon…
His comments started a mini trend using the hashtag #pubteam on Twitter, with some hilarious results…
Fans of Gus Poyet’s pub team were obviously not happy with the performance, with several of them attempting to get to the dugout to tell their Uruguayan manager exactly what they think…
Sunderland fans anger
Others showed their disapproval by leaving before half time, anticipating further embarrassment in the second half…
Sunderland fans leaving
Things are not looking good down on Wearside, that’s for sure.
