Shearer, Ant and Dec Make the Queen's Birthday Honours List

Three famous Geordies have been recognised by the Queen in her 90th birthday honours list. Newcastle United legend, Alan Shearer has been made a CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for his continued charitable service to the North-East community.
In 2001, Shearer was made OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire), a title which has now been bestowed upon Ant and Dec in the Queen’s most recent honours list which was revealed yesterday.

The popular duo were quick to congratulate their hero Alan Shearer on his own achievement…

Ant and Dec hope that their achievement can inspire others to follow their dreams…

and it looks like they had a few drinks to celebrate…

Meanwhile, Shearer promised to continue to serve the North-East…

before joining the Match of the Day team in Paris for the starts of Euro 2016…

Hundreds of others sent their own congratulations to the winners…
