The Stand Comedy Club – What’s on in October

October Highlights

We have some great touring shows in October as well as our regular weekend shows, our hugely popular Red Raw (beginners show) as well as our Kids Comedy Club. We also have an exclusive ticket offer for Newcastle Uncovered readers for our Friday Night shows throughout October – see below.

Steffen Peddie: 99 Problems and the Chips Ain’t One

Date: Monday 5th October 2015
Doors Open: 19:00
Show Begins: 20:30

99 problems and the way to solve them! Are there everyday problems or questions you need answered? Let Steffen Peddie (Big Keith from BBC’s Hebburn) a man who has multiple problems every day, show you the way to either: 1.Leave them all behind you, 2.Get revenge or 3.Sort them out.
This show is improvised from your Questions and Problems, so it’s a different show every time!
Bring a problem and possibly leave with a solution or at least with a smile on your face.
“He holds the audience’s attention throughout and leaves the stage with me wanting more” Journal (Newcastle)
“His forays into audience participation are good-natured and demonstrate a sharp improvisational mind” Skinny

Patrick Kielty: Help!

Bring him your lovers, your advice and a crayon. He promises to do the rest.
“TV has not tamed this man – he is still one of the funniest comedians you will ever see” What’s On Stage
“Hilarious” Belfast Telegraph
With support from Lost Voice Guy

Newcastle Kids Comedy Club

Kids, do you need somewhere to take your adults without them getting bored and going in a huff? Of course you do! Bring them to NKCC where the adults can have just as good a time as the kids. We’ll bring you some of the world’s best comedy, circus, storytelling, poetry, and stupid science.

This show is suitable for children and adults of all ages, (well maybe not babies or really, grumpy old folk). Best suited for 8 to 12 year olds. Tickets £4 per person.

Date: Sunday 11th October 2015
Doors Open: 19:00
Show Begins: 20:30

With special guest Kai Humphries *
Don’t miss the smash-hit new show from Scotland’s internationally acclaimed and award-winning comedy half-man-half-Xbox!
Daniel’s sold out 8 consecutive Edinburgh Fringe seasons, has made TV appearances including ‘The John Bishop Show’, ‘Sunday Night at Palladium’, ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’, ‘Conan O’Brien’ (4 times in one year – the first stand-up ever to achieve this), had his own BBC show, co-created online sitcom M.U.F.F, gave a ‘Tedx’ Talk, has toured extensively throughout UK, Australia, USA, Europe, won a few awards, released a live DVD and is currently working on his pilot for Warner Brothers Studios….
He’s also totally sick of people calling his comedy “dark”. ‘Brilliantly dark’ (Sunday Times)
‘Brilliant’ (Mail on Sunday) ‘Genuinely funny!’ (Time Out)

Joe Lycett: That’s The Way, A-Ha A-Ha, Joe Lycett

Joe Lycett

Date: Tuesday 20th October 2015
Doors Open: 19:00
Show Begins: 20:30

Any returned tickets may be available on the door just prior to the show.

Fred MacAulay: Twenty Fifteen

Date: Tuesday 27th October 2015
Doors Open: 19:00
Show Begins: 20:30

From BBC Radio 4’s ‘The News Quiz’; ‘Bridget Christie Minds The Gap’; The Unbelievable Truth’
It sounds like a wrong tennis score, but Twenty Fifteen is a hugely significant year for one of Scotland’s best (and best loved) stand-up comedians. Back on the road again after 18 years at BBC Radio Scotland, Fred looks back on family life at home…..and forward to how his country will shape up after the referendum of 2014. In his first tour since 2012 and with a new show, as well as looking backwards and forwards he’ll probably look sideways at politics, sport, the environment and without this sounding too like a brief for a newspaper, there will undoubtedly be a colour supplement with a look at ‘celebrity’.
